ANDRÉS FELIPE MERCHÁN LOZA

Senior Music Composer | Sound Designer | Audio Producer

A Bogota-based Maestro en Música with over a decade of formal training and a robust career in real-time audio development. From a foundation in symphonic performance to an emphasis in advanced arrangement, my work bridges the gap between complex academic theory—including Serialism, Atonalism, and Set Theory—and the cutting-edge requirements of the global gaming and AR/VR industries.

Professional Evolution & Academic Foundation

My career began in the symphonic tradition, evolving through the Soprano Saxophone and Bass Guitar before culminating in a specialized Mestro en Música degree from Universidad El Bosque. During my academic tenure, I focused on the intersection of Folk-Pop fusion and Jazz orchestration, developing a rigorous compositional language that allows me to navigate both traditional academic scores and modern popular genres.

Technical Mastery & Industry Collaboration

My professional practice is defined by multidisciplinary versatility. Since 2017, I have served as a Music Composer and Sound Designer for a prestigious roster of international clients, including: Atari, Dreams Uncorporated, Ground Control Studios, Little Sewing Machine, Microsoft, Logitech, Augmented Island Studios, among many others

Specialized Expertise

Compositional Theory: Implementation of Serialism and Modal Composition into modern multimedia contexts.

Interactive Audio: Designing seamless soundscapes for Video Games and Augmented Reality (AR) applications.

Advanced Arrangement: Expert Big Band scoring with a focus on Swing, Latin Jazz, and Ballad Swing among many other genres.

Post-Production: Experienced Audio Producer, ensuring high-fidelity delivery for global marketing campaigns and 3D simulations.
